The world congress of tuners, manufacturers, dealers and restorers will be held for the first time in Poland. Industry representatives from around the world will meet in Warsaw, September 2-4.
Over the three days, there will be 29 lectures and seminars, 3 concerts and 1 documentary film screening. This brings the total to 27 hours of seminars, 5.5 hours of concerts and 1 hour of film screening.
The Piano Congress will feature 26 speakers from around the world. Their seminars will be centered around the congress theme "The Piano of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow."

The first thematic block is "The Piano of Yesterday" is historical instruments. The association's partner here is the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, which not only organizes the opening concert at the Royal Castle (on historical instruments), but also, at the invitation of the NIFC, leading theoreticians and restorers dealing with pianos from Chopin's era will come to Warsaw.
The second thematic block is "Piano Today" is contemporary instruments. This is a space that will be occupied by representatives of piano manufacturers (Petrof, Bechstein, Straingraeber), suppliers of spare parts theorists and practitioners of instrument tuning.

The last thematic block is "The Piano of Tomorrow," or instrument restoration. A fairly young field that breathes new life into old, used pianos and grand pianos, through a general overhaul, rebuilding the instrument from scratch. In Kalisz, on the foundations of the pre-war piano and upright piano factory Arnold Fibiger and later Calisia, the world's largest piano restoration basin was established. These major restoration plants could be instrument factories in their own right.
About 1,000 instruments a year each come out of the restoration workshops of these largest ones. Representatives of some of these factories will speak at the congress about the technologies used in the restoration of instruments.

Piano Congress will feature a special screening of the film "Soul Enchanted in a Piano," directed by Judyta Fibiger, granddaughter of the last owner of the Arnold Fibiger piano and piano factory. Judith, along with her mother, Elvira Fibiger, will be a guest at the Piano Congress.
Slawomir Zubrzycki, the Polish creator of the Viola Organista, a string piano designed by Leonardo da Vinci, will also be a special guest.
The Piano Congress in Poland is the Europiano European Congress and the IAPBT World Convention. These two organizations - at the European level (every three years) and the world level (every two years) organize such meetings in different parts of the world. Once a decade, such a double meeting is held in Europe. The Association of Polish Piano Tuners is the organizer - together with Europiano and IAPBT - of the Piano Congress, which will be held in Warsaw, September 2-4, 2022.
